The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has launched a pioneering initiative to address the pressing issue of CA stress management and promote work-life balance among chartered accountants (CAs), following the tragic death of a 26-year-old EY employee due to corporate stress.

The ICAI's dedicated group, focused on Chartered Accountant mental health, will provide emotional support and guidance to CAs struggling with mental health difficulties. This move highlights the importance of employee wellness programmes and work-life balance initiatives in the CA profession.
Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, President, ICAI, underlined the importance of employee well-being for multinational corporations and organisations.
“We strongly urge organisations to implement balanced work policies that promote employee health and reduce stress. By prioritising the mental and physical well-being of their workforce, organisations can foster a more productive, resilient, and innovative environment,” he said.
The newly formed group, led by Mrs. Seema Gerotra, Additional Director on Work-Life Balance & Stress Management, will develop measures to promote a healthier balance between personal and professional commitments, enhancing both the mental and physical well-being of ICAI members.
By introducing this peer support group, the ICAI aims to mitigate the risks associated with excessive work pressure and promote a culture of well-being within the CA community
