German firm setting up Rs 4,640-cr EV unit in AP
e-bus and truck manufacturing unit coming up over 800 acres at Punganur in Chittoor district will generate 8,100 jobs; Phase-I will be operational by Q2/2025

Vijayawada: Germany-based Pepper Motion is all set to launch its Rs4,640-crore electric bus and truck manufacturing unit over an area of 800 acres at Punganur in Chittoor district. Andreas Hager, CEO, Pepper Motion, called on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh, at his camp office at Tadepalli near here on Wednesday and thanked him for giving fast-track clearance for establishment of the facility in the State.
The Chief Minister explained about the pro-active and transparent industrial policy being implemented by the YSRCP Government for giving single window clearances to entrepreneurs and producing green energy in the State.
Hager told him that their unit will manufacture 30,000 electric buses and trucks annually. It will also have a facility of retrofitting for converting diesel buses and trucks into electric vehicles. Its integrated vertical production facility of international standards will also have a 20GWH capacity battery manufacturing unit, he told the Chief Minister.
Pepper Motion has tied up with leading international corporate companies and has facilities in USA, Europe, Mexico and China.
