Fortune Academy invites entries for short film contest on fin literacy

City-based Fortune Academy, an investment, sales and marketing training institute on Tuesday announced a short film contest on financial literacy. The best three short films will bag a cash prize of Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively. Multiple entries can be forwarded online to the academy before July 31, 2024.

The film, either shot in English or Telugu, is open for participants from both the Telugu states only. It can be shot in horizontal or vertical video format, for a duration of less than two minutes. All the entries, once sent to the academy, will be the property of Fortune Academy. A panel of financial experts, retired RBI official, bank official, and a celebrity associated with the Academy, among others will judge the contest. Based on the jury’s decision, and the video that garners maximum public views, the winners will be selected and rewarded in August or September, 2024.

Dr Mani Pavitra, Co-founder, Fortune Academy, said: “27 per cent the educated population is not aware about finances, be it savings, budgeting or investing. Due to ill prepared finances, many families lost their money balance during Covid. Our intention through the contest is to make people aware about financial literacy in the simplest language.”

The theme of the short film should revolve around the importance of money, women and need for financial literacy, saving culture, digital transactions, and others related to the subject. The judging criteria includes clarity of message, originality, engagement, relevance, production quality, accuracy of information, and creativity.

The Co-founder further said that this contest aims to create a series of edutainment short films on financial management. The film will be uploaded and streamed on the academy’s YouTube channel, and multiple other platforms for the next six months.
