New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away on Thursday at Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at the age of 92.
In an official statement, the hospital revealed that the Congress stalwart was undergoing treatment for age-related ailments and experienced a "sudden loss of consciousness at home." Despite concerted medical efforts, Dr. Singh could not be revived and was declared dead at 9:51 PM.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to his predecessor, hailing him as one of the "most distinguished leaders." Reflecting on Dr. Singh's legacy, Modi wrote on X, “Rising from humble beginnings, he became a respected economist and served in various pivotal government roles, including Finance Minister.
