Flight to Hyderabad Diverts to Chennai for Medical Emergency

A Private carrier from Hyderabad has made the "emergency landing" here after the passenger was diagnosed with an illness on Saturday officials at Hyderabad's airport reported. A male passenger on the flight that was headed to Chennai was complaining of a feeling of unease, after which the pilots sought urgent landings, the officials claimed.

On Emergency landing, medical personnel was on hand to assist the passenger and was being treated, the team said without providing more specifics. According to the protocol laid out the flight was stopped, both from the departure and inbound, was allowed for a short time to allow the aircraft that was preparing to make an emergency landing the officials added. Following flight movements were not affected.

The flight, going between Chennai to Hyderabad had a fault with its landing gear leading the pilot to notify the Chennai airport authorities of the problem.

Due to the pilot's skill and rapid decision-making skills the plane successful in landing without any issues.

The reports indicate that there six crew members on the cargo plane during the emergency. Fortunately, everyone was not injured. The plane made an ordinary landing, was not the emergency landing. Passengers deplaned as normal. Pressurization was in place throughout the flight." said a spokesperson for SpiceJet.

According to News9 article The plane was flying in mid-air when was struck by an engine issue. When they discovered this, the pilots quickly called the control room of the airport in Chennai.

The officials commanded they return to the airport immediately following which the plane was safely landing at 7:15 am according to the report it added, noting that engineers were examining the malfunctioning engine.
