Tensions between Canada and India increased this week, resulting in both countries expelling diplomats.

The conflict started when Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed there were credible allegations linking India to the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Khalistani terrorist shot outside a Gurdwara in British Columbia last June.

Canadian officials believe Indian agents might be involved in some activities. India, in turn, accused Canada of supporting extremists.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said they have proof of Indian agents doing illegal activities.

They also claimed Indian diplomats were part of secret operations.

India denied these claims and called them absurd.

They accused Canada of letting violent extremists threaten their officials.

In response, India expelled six Canadian diplomats, saying it was wrong to target them.
