Disha Patani’s Father Duped of Rs 25 Lakh After Being Promised Government Post
Disha Patani’s father, Jagdish Singh Patani, was allegedly duped of Rs 25 lakh by scammers who promised him a high-ranking government position. An FIR has been registered in Uttar Pradesh, and efforts are underway to apprehend the accused.

Jagdish Singh Patani, the father of actress Disha Patani and a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, was allegedly swindled of Rs 25 lakh by a group of scammers who promised him a high-ranking position in a government commission. An FIR has been filed in Uttar Pradesh against five individuals—Shivendra Pratap Singh, Diwakar Garg, Acharya Jayaprakash (from Juna Akhara), Preeti Garg, and an unidentified accomplice—on charges of cheating, criminal intimidation, and extortion.
According to the police report, Patani, a Bareilly resident, was introduced to Diwakar Garg and Acharya Jayaprakash by Shivendra Pratap Singh. The scammers claimed to have influential political connections and assured Patani a top role in a government commission, such as chairman or vice-chairman.
Trusting their promises, Patani allegedly handed over Rs 25 lakh—Rs 5 lakh in cash and Rs 20 lakh through bank transfers to three accounts. However, after three months with no progress, the scammers initially promised to return the money with interest. When Patani demanded a refund, they reportedly threatened him and acted aggressively.
To strengthen their deception, the group introduced a man named Himanshu, claiming he was an "officer on special duty" to further assure Patani of their political ties. Suspecting a scam, Patani filed a complaint with the police, leading to the registration of the FIR.
The accused have not yet been arrested, and authorities are actively working to apprehend them and pursue legal action.
