Delhi School Blast Links A Khalistani Link, Reveals A Probe

Following a blast at a CRPF school in Delhi’s Rohini area, a probe is underway linking a Khalistani involvement. This development comes after a threatening post went viral on social media.

A pro-Khalistani channel claimed responsibility for the blast after its post was retrieved from Telegram. Delhi Police have seeked details about the channel from the messaging app.

Delhi Police claimed that it is investigating the connection behind the Telegram post. The post claimed that the blast was carried out in retaliation to the alleged targeting of pro-Khalistan separatists by Indian agents.

The investigation team ascertained details about the Telegram channel named ‘Justice League India’. It contained a video of the blast along with a ‘Khalistan Zindabad’ watermark at the bottom that appeared on Sunday evening.

The post carried a message claiming that Khalistani operatives were behind the attack.

No one was injured in the incident.

After the video was posted on the messaging platform, it was circulated through various Telegram channels operating from Pakistan. The message was funneled via those Pakistani Telegram channels, which were used to share terrorist activities in Kashmir.

As per the police sources, preliminary investigation revealed that the explosion was carried out with the help of Improvised Explosive Device (IED), controlled via remote. The source added that the bomb was planted late at night on Saturday.

Locals in the area revealed that the blast occurred between 7.35 a.m. and 7.40 a.m. on Sunday. This was followed by a foul smell that spread across the neighborhood.

Notably, a source revealed that Central agencies reported about the traces of low explosives near the site. It added that a powder-like substance along with wires were also recovered from the scene. Currently, National Security Guard (NSG) officials have retrieved a battery along with a wire near the blast site, for which investigations are ongoing. This is being done to ascertain whether these were a part of the incident.
