Defence and Security Cooperation: Insights from Lammy's Discussions in New Delhi

UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, on his first visit to India, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.
India and the UK have initiated a new Technology Security Initiative (TSI), overseen by the National Security Advisors (NSAs) from both nations.
This announcement came during Lammy's meetings in New Delhi.
The TSI aims to enhance cooperation in critical and emerging technologies, building on the India-UK Roadmap 2030. Progress will be reviewed biannually at the Deputy NSA level.
The discussions also covered the early conclusion of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA), deepening defence and security cooperation, especially in the Indo-Pacific, and addressing threats from non-state actors.
Prime Minister Modi appreciated UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer's efforts to strengthen the partnership between India and the UK.
