Undeterred by the stones hurled at him at a public rally two days ago, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy resumed Memantha Siddham Yatra on a bus after taking a break on Sunday amid allegations by TDP-BJP and Jana Sena Party alliance that he received the minor injury as part of stage-managed attempt to gain some sympathy.
Even as the YSRCP leaders sought action against the attackers and blamed provocative statements issued by TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu and other leaders of NDA for the assault, the Opposition parties reiterated their demand by CBI to identify the people involved behind the stone-attack. Speaking on the incident that occurred on Saturday, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and emphasised the need to stand firm against such cowardly acts. He urged party leaders to remain dedicated to reaching out to the people and ensuring the memorable success of the Memantha Siddham Yatra. Present at the meetings were Chairperson of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council K Moshen Raju, Ministers Jogi Ramesh, Karumuri Venkata Nageswara Rao.
