Methods to Check PF Balance Without UAN
1. Using the EPFO Portal with PF Number
Employees can visit the EPFO website and access their account using their PF number instead of a UAN. This allows them to check their balance and contributions. The process requires personal details such as name, date of birth, and registered mobile number to authenticate access.
2. Via SMS Service
EPFO provides an SMS facility for users to check their balance without a UAN. Employees need to send an SMS in a specific format from their registered mobile number to 7738299899. The format for the message is:
EPFOHO <LAN> <PF NUMBER>
Here, <LAN> refers to the preferred language code (such as ENG for English, HIN for Hindi, etc.), and <PF NUMBER>
3. Through the Missed Call Service
Employees can also check their PF balance by giving a missed call to the EPFO toll-free number 9966044425 from their registered mobile number. After the call is disconnected, an SMS with account balance details is sent. This method is useful for those who do not have internet access.
