Chandra Sekhara Reddy takes charge as BEE Southern Advisor
As part of his new assignment, he will promote efficient use of energy and its conservation, clean energy transition and LiFE Mission at State/UT level

Hyderabad: In a significant move for the Southern region's energy landscape, A Chandra Sekhara Reddy, currently serving as the Senior Advisor at Energy Efficiency Services Limited, assumed the role of Southern Media Advisor for the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Union Ministry of Power, Government of India.
Based in Hyderabad, his mandate encompasses collaboration with State Designated Agencies (SDAs) in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Union Territories.
As part of his new assignment, he will promote efficient use of energy and its conservation, clean energy transition and Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE) Mission at State/UT level. He would provide guidance and support as well as share knowledge and expertise with respective regional State Designated Agencies (SDAs) of Southern States towards concrete and sustainable energy efficiency campaign goals. Notably, he serves as the Nodal Officer in South for the transformative "LIFE Mission" (Lifestyle for Environment) introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at COP26. This mission, deeply embedded in India's nationally determined contributions, aspires to mobilize at least one billion individuals globally to adopt a lifestyle in harmony with nature by 2028. In his new role, Chandra Sekhara Reddy will actively champion BEE initiatives on energy conservation and efficiency through effective communication strategies. He says that BEE's focus is on the nationwide expansion of Mission LiFE. “The aim is clear: to inspire every individual to contribute to the nation's climate goals, bringing benefits to the public and the entire country,” he explained.
According to him, by embracing Mission LiFE, Hyderabad can become a model city for sustainable living, demonstrating that economic growth and environmental protection can coexist and thrive. With a focus on Hyderabad's diverse industries and major Global companies, there is significant potential for the city to lead in advancing energy efficiency and conservation. The BEE is also concentrating on major cities in Andhra Pradesh like Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and major cities in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala such as Bangalore, Chennai, Trivandrum and Union territories in the Southern States
Under the umbrella of Mission LiFE, BEE actively promotes energy efficiency through diverse programs, reaching schools, residential welfare associations, and electric vehicle awareness campaigns.
