The CBSE has issued a circular cautioning individuals against the proliferation of rumors and false information regarding board exams across various social media platforms. The annual examinations for class 10 and 12 are scheduled from February 15 to April 2.

The circular highlighted that during exam periods, certain malicious actors attempt to spread rumors through platforms like YouTube, Facebook, X, Telegram, and others, claiming access to exam question papers or circulating fake links to sample papers. Additionally, they distribute counterfeit images or videos of question papers, demanding payment for access. These actions aim to deceive students and parents and cause confusion and panic.

The CBSE emphasized its vigilance in collaboration with law enforcement agencies to take strict action against those involved in disseminating fake news under relevant provisions of the IPC and IT Act. It warned of disciplinary actions against students found spreading false information and urged parents to guide their children against such activities.

Individuals encountering such misinformation were urged to report it to the CBSE via email at [email protected].

Previously, the CBSE had issued a public advisory alerting students to beware of fake social media accounts impersonating CBSE on X, previously known as Twitter.
