CAT Result 2024: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta released the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 result on Thursday evening. Candidates who appeared in the exam can download their scorecards on the official CAT Result 2024 OUT website through their application ID and password.

2.93 lakh exam was scored out of 3.29 lakh eligible candidates who applied. Students studying engineering and male applicants scored best.

Of the 14 candidates who reached the 100 per centile, 13 were engineers. They were 13 male and 1 female candidates, gendered.

29 of the applicants also scored in the 99.99 percentile. The pool was 25 engineers and four non-engineering cat 2024 result candidates, 27 men and two women. Thirty of the applicants were in the 99.98 percentile.

Only four women candidates appeared in the top-three percentile brackets this year compared with 69 men. Based on their academic profile, 59 of the best candidates were from engineering streams, while the other 15 were from non-engineering disciplines.

The age breakdown of the 3.29 lakh enrolled candidates was as follows:

• General category: 67.53%

• Other Backward Classes (NC-OBC): Non-Creamy Layer: 16.91% Other Backward Classes (NC-OBC): 16.91%

• Scheduled Caste (SC): 8.51%

• Scheduled Tribe (ST): 2.25%

• Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 4.80%

• Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 0.44%

Of the 2.93 lakh applicants who appeared in the exam, 67.20% were of the General category.

IIMs will soon be announcing shortlists for the next round of admissions at iimcat.ac.in. Short listing — On the basis of cat result and the institution criteria. Beyond IIMs, 86 non-IIM institutions will accept cat scores for their management programmes.
