Subhash Atul, a Bengaluru techie, took his own life, leaving a trail of tears and the unsettling question: Did the system fail him?

The 34-year-old software engineer's 24-page death note revealed the unbearable emotional distress he faced due to marital discord and harassment.

According to sources close to the family, Atul's estranged wife had been harassing him for months, making it impossible for him to cope with the stress. The situation took a turn for the worse when Atul approached the court, seeking relief from the constant harassment. However, in a stunning display of insensitivity, the judge laughed when Atul's wife told him to commit suicide.

The incident has sparked outrage, with many demanding justice for Atul and his family. The case highlights the dire need for a more compassionate and supportive system for men facing harassment in marital disputes.

Atul's family is now demanding justice, calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. "I want my brother to get justice. Atul's brother said, "I want my brother to get justice. I want this country to have a legal process through which even men can get justice. I want strict action against those who are sitting on a legal chair and doing corruption because if this continues, then how will people expect justice?"

His uncle claimed, "What happened was very unfortunate. He was also losing the case filed by his wife. He was being tortured……Initially, the family demanded Rs. 40,000 per month, doubled it later and then wanted Atul to pay Rs. 1 lakh per month."

He wondered how much money would be required to raise a child of this age. "His wife even said that he should commit suicide if he cannot pay the amount, to which the judge also laughed. This really hurt him," he alleged.

As the investigation into Atul's death progresses, one thing seems clear: the system failed him. The question now is whether the system will learn from its failures and provide a more supportive atmosphere for men experiencing harassment in marital conflicts. Only time will tell.
