Hyderabad: The Ambassador of Belgium to India Didier Vanderhasselt visited Sri City on Wednesday. Founder Managing Director of Sri City Dr Ravindra Sannareddy received the Ambassador and showcased the infrastructure, features, and development of the business park.

The Ambassador, after touring the industrial park, visited Vermeiren India Rehab Private Limited, a Belgian manufacturer of rehabilitation care equipment. Patrick Vermeiren, Chairman and CEO of Vermeiren Group, and Syed Riaz Qadri, Managing Director, welcomed the Ambassador. Vanderhasselt laid the foundation stone for the company’s fourth phase expansion.

During his visit, Ambassador Vanderhasselt inquired about availability of skilled manpower and government incentives. He mentioned plans to introduce Sri City to Belgian companies that are interested in investing in India.

In response, Dr Sannareddy said that Sri City has already built country-specific clusters and added that a Belgian industrial cluster could be created if a sizeable number of enterprises express their interest.

“Sri City’s strong infrastructure, pro-business approach, and fast-paced growth continue to attract global investors across various sectors,” said Dr Sannareddy. He highlighted Sri City’s position as a leading manufacturing hub in India with home to over 220 renowned brands from 29 countries, including Belgium’s Vermeiren.

Jayant Nadiger, Trade and Investment Commissioner of Flanders Region of Belgium, was also present.
