Banks in several states will be closed on Friday, November 15, 2024, in observance of Guru Nanak Jayanti and Karthika Purnima, as per the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) holiday list.
The RBI publishes a regional and national holiday list for banks each year, which includes both state-specific and nationwide holidays. It is also important to note that banks remain closed on Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.

Guru Nanak Jayanti, also known as Guru Nanak Gurpurab or Guru Nanak Prakash Utsav, marks the birth of Guru Nanak, the first Sikh Guru and the founder of Sikhism.
The celebration falls on the full moon day of the month of Katak, which typically falls in October or November, depending on the lunar calendar.
