ASSOCHAM hosts discussion on World IP Day

Hyderabad: Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), in collaboration with T-Hub, and Resolute4IP, organised a session on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) on World IP Day, in Hyderabad on Friday. The session highlighted the role of IPR in driving transformative advancements alongside Artificial Intelligence. S Padmaja, CEO, IProPaT Solutions, moderated the discussion that was led by speakers Sundari Pisupati, Partner, Tempus Law Associates; Ashok Doppalapudi, Founder, IP Bank; and Raviteja Kethuri, Co-founder, AITOBI Technologies Private Limited.

Macha Dinesh Babu, State Head – AP and Telangana, Assocham, said: “The session served as a platform to explore innovative approaches and collaborations that leverage Intellectual Property to address global challenges and foster sustainable development.”

He further said that the key points of discussion included issues related to technology transfer, legal considerations, and the progressive evolution of human knowledge. Collaboration between businesses, policymakers, and academia is essential to strengthening IP frameworks, promoting responsible IP practices, and addressing emerging challenges, he added.

Telangana is home to about 26 lakh MSMEs, out of which 56 per cent are in rural areas, and 44 per cent in urban. Assocham in an official release said that Hyderabad’s diverse research institutions, and supportive ecosystem provide fertile ground for intellectual property creation, protection, and commercialisation, driving economic development and technological advancement.
