Apple iOS 18 Rollout: Exciting AI Features Coming Soon

On September 16, Apple started rolling out its new iOS 18 worldwide.
This new OS was first previewed at the WWDC 2024 event. And now with the launch of the iPhone 16 series, users can explore new OS features.
Delayed AI Features
The much-anticipated feature of iOS 18 is Apple Intelligence, which includes a range of AI tools. But, users may have to wait until next month for these new features. They are likely to debut with the iOS 18.1 update and release the new features by the end of 2024.
iOS 18.1 Update Features
Currently available for developers and testers, some of the features include:
AI-Powered Notifications: Summaries of notifications.
Smart Replies: Available in Mail and Messages apps.
AI Writing Tools: For generating text.
Safari Summaries: Quick summaries of web pages.
Call Recordings and Transcriptions: Easily record and transcribe calls.
Memory Movies: Create videos from your photos.
Clean Up Tool: Remove unwanted objects or people from photos.
Enhanced Siri: Improvements in Siri’s capabilities.
Update Expectations
Apple analyst Mark Gurman said that iOS 18.2, expected to be released in December, may introduce:
Image Playground: An app for generating unique images using AI.
Genmoji: An AI tool for creating personalized emojis based on user prompts.
Future Updates: iOS 18.3 and 18.4
iOS 18.3: Currently, no new AI features are planned, and it may be a minor update focused on fixes.
iOS 18.4: Expected in March 2025, this update may introduce significant upgrades, including smarter Siri features that can handle complex tasks, as well as support for additional languages like Chinese, Japanese, French, and Spanish.
