Apollo looks to expand its cardiac homecare services to other cities

Apollo Homecare said it has completed the first phase of ‘Home Discharge Programme,’ for cardiac surgery patients. The initiative prioritises post-discharge care to reduce readmission rates and boost long-term recovery post-cardiac surgery.

With positive results reported from the first phase of the programme, Apollo Homecare is looking forward to expand its penetration in other cities by offering the same set continuum of care after discharge.

Vishal Lathwal, CEO, Apollo Homecare said, “There is a substantial increase in cardiac diseases, which has led to around three lakh cardiac procedures being performed annually across 420 cardiac centres. At the same time, the period from discharge to recovery remains critical for patients. To ensure expedited recovery, Apollo Homecare has taken the initiative to offer a Post-Discharge Care programme.”
