AP collects Rs 24,851-cr GST in FY24, growing at 11%

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Zone of Central Goods and Service Tax (GST) covering the whole of the State of Andhra Pradesh has contributed Rs 24,851 crore in the FY 2023-24. According to N Sridhar, Principal Commissioner, in the current year, the zone is growing at the rate of 11.32 per cent, which is on par with the national revenue growth. Central Tax assessees in Andhra Pradesh have grown from around 58,000 taxpayers in 2017 to 1.89 lakh in 2023-24.

The Principal Commissioner, while speaking at the 7th anniversary of the roll out of the game changing GST, congratulated the officers of the zone for being the best zone in the country in four out of 11 parameters as evaluated by the Directorate General of GST, New Delhi.
