VSEZ Clocks Export Turnover Of Rs 69,733 Cr In 3rd Quarter

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ) has recorded exports to the tune of Rs69,733 crore during the third quarter of current fiscal registering a growth of 20 per cent over corresponding period last year.

Of this service exports was amounting to Rs40,996 crore and merchandise exports Rs.28,737 crore, according to Srinivas Muppaala, Zonal Development Commissioner of VSEZ.

He informed on Wednesday that during the period April-December’2024, VSEZ recorded exports to the tune of Rs.1,99,396 crore registering a growth of 22 per cent for the same period during the previous year. Of this, service exports were Rs.1,19,786 crore and merchandise exports Rs.79,610 crore.

Coming to VSEZ, Duvvada SEZ, during the period October-December’2024 the zone made exports of Rs.1,695 crore registering a growth of 28 per cent. During the the period from April-December’2024, the zone recorded exports amounting to Rs7,092 crore registering a growth of 24 per cent. Of this, merchandise exports amounted to Rs7,069 crore. .

During the third quarter, five new SEZ unit proposals (Andhra Pradesh one, Telangana four) and four new EOU proposals (all from Telangana were approved.

VSEZ has attracted investment of Rs1,12,276 crore and generated employment of 6,18,551 people as on 31.03.2024. The Development Commissioner said during the period October-December’2024, four new SEZ unit proposals and another four EOU proposals have been granted approval in Telangana and one new SEZ unit proposal in Andhra Pradesh. The newly approved SEZ units and EOU units will invest Rs.616.26 crore with a commitment to provide 2207 jobs.

In Andhra Pradesh approval has been given to SEZ unit by Super Ranila for processing and manufacture of edible oils at VSEZ, Duvvada.

In Telangana, four new SEZ unit proposals were granted approval to FTG Aerospace Hyderabad Pvt. Limited (aerospace related), PTCG India Pvt. Limited, Hyundai Transys India Pvt. Limited, UBS Business Solutions (India) Pvt. Limited for

rendering IT/ITES and four new EOU proposals were granted to NAAZ Buying House (processing of betel nut), Hycon Laboratories Limited, New Atom Labs Pvt. Limited (two units) for rendering pharmaceutical and CRO services.
