The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has issued a notification regarding the collection of empty tins used in the Tirumala Srivari Temple and its affiliated temples. Sealed tenders have been invited from interested parties, with submissions due by 3 p.m. on February 27 at the Marketing (Auction) Office on Hare Krishna Road in Tirupati.
According to the issued statement, the tender process will cover empty tins previously utilized for packaging ghee, oil, and cashew nuts. The successful bidders will be permitted to collect these tins until March 31, 2026. The TTD has advised those seeking further details to contact the Marketing (Auction) Office at 0877-2264429.
Meanwhile, TTD has announced that the 971st incarnation celebrations of Sri Ananthalvar, a noted Sri Vaishnava saint and an ardent devotee of Lord Venkateswara, will be observed on February 23 at Purushaivari Thota, located southwest of the Srivari Temple in Tirumala.
The event will include a spiritual discourse on Ananthalvar’s contributions, conducted under the Alwar Divya Prabandha Project. The session is scheduled to commence at 9:30 a.m.
Although Ananthalvar’s birth anniversary traditionally falls in the Tamil Chaitra month, his descendants commemorate his arrival in Tirumala as the primary festival date. On this occasion, members of the Ananthalvar lineage from across the country will assemble at Purushaivari Thota, offering special prayers, reciting sacred hymns from the Divya Prabandham, and participating in devotional events.
