Toll increases to 3 in Pharma City fire

Visakhapatnam: Even as multiple probes are going into reactor blast at Atchutapuram Special Economic Zone, the toll at fire that occurred at Synergene Active Ingredients Private Ltd at Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City (JNPC), a few km away, increased to three on Monday. One person died and few others were injured in the incident. Senior chemist K Satyanarayana and helper Lal Singh Puri, who were undergoing treatment at a corporate hospital here, succumbed on Monday. Another helper V Angira died on Friday. A day before the JNPC fire, the blast at Escientia Advanced Sciences Pvt Ltd at the SEZ in Anakapalli district had killed 17 and injured many.
