TCS New Facility A Game Changer For AP
Visakhapatnam: Lakshmi Mukkavilli, president, IT Association of Andhra Pradesh (ITAAP), said for any sector to grow, some big company has to take the leap into the city and that is what happened now.
“With Infosys already operating and TCS soon signing the lease with Dallas Technologies Ltd, I think Visakhapatnam is poised to take off in the growth of IT sector in double or triple fold as these two giant organisation have paved the way,” she said.
More big organisations will see the potential of this City of Destiny and make a beeline to set up operations here, she added.
“The State government is proactively working on the new IT policy, which is going to be conducive for the companies to set up shop here,” she said.
Lakshmi further said: “They are also working to improve on the infra structure, specifically on the air connectivity and also on the IT Hills to make it more attractive for the companies and the employees with safety being a high priority.
Coming to skill development, besides the placement from the big universities in and around Vizag for Infosys and TCS, even the smaller colleges will look for placements in these organisations and hone the skills of the students to get placements, she said.
The ITAAP chief felt that ultimately there will be a chain reaction, which is caused by company like TCS coming here to improve the skilling of our students in colleges and this in turn will attract more big organisations to coming into Vizag.
