Procedures being eased to make AP destination for investors: CS
State has so far reduced 632 compliances in more than 60 regulations

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K Vijayanand on Tuesday said that the State Government is actively implementing the Reduction of Compliance Burden (RCB) or Regulatory Compliance Burden (MRCB) program as part of the Ease of Doing Business (EDB) Policy to make the State an attractive destination for investors.

Cabinet Secretary Dr TV Somanathan held a video conference with Chief Secretaries from Delhi on EDB. In the National Conference of Chief Secretaries held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister on December 13-15 last year, it was decided to set up a Deregulation Cell under the leadership of a Secretary-level coordinating officer in the Cabinet Secretariat to assist the States in reforming and simplifying the rules and procedures related to EDB.
Vijayanand explained that the State has so far reduced 632 compliances in more than 60 regulations. He said that efforts have been made to regain momentum under the Compliance Burden Reduction Program in Andhra Pradesh for the past year.
He said that the government has also constituted an empowered committee (EC) headed by the Chief Secretary to monitor the implementation of this program. He said that the empowered committee will also review the compliance reduction proposals submitted by various departments and issue appropriate orders accordingly.
Vijayanand explained to the Cabinet Secretary that Andhra Pradesh is giving priority to the EDB (Business Reforms Action Plan, RCB, MRCB) program with the aim of becoming the most attractive investment destination in the country. He said that since the beginning of 2025, more than 60 burdensome compliances have been reduced in seven departments. In addition, the he said that efforts are being made to identify and reduce more burdensome regulations to further streamline the business environment.
The CS directed the respective departments to ensure that the remaining compliances are attended by the 1st week of March. He said that a team from the Government of India is visiting the State in the 1st week of March to review the status of EDB and to take best practices from Andhra Pradesh to other States.
Similarly, the team is expected to give some suggestions based on best practices from around the world, Vijayanand said.
