Vijayawada: New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) with the support of the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI), and International Copper Association India (ICA India), on Wednesday held a stakeholder consultation on PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana here. The consultation attracted participation from officials from DISCOMS (APCPDCL, APSPDCL and APEPDCL) as well as rooftop solar vendors from across Andhra Pradesh.

The stakeholder consultation session focused on gathering feedback from rooftop EPC vendors and DISCOMs to refine the guidebook on the rooftop scheme, drafted by ICA India with the support of NSEFI. The discussion focused on ensuring the guidebook effectively addresses both consumer awareness and technical implementation.

The session saw meaningful deliberations on designing key awareness initiatives to help in sensitising consumers on solar rooftop across the State.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamlakar Babu, VC and MD, NREDCAP said "under the dynamic leadership of N. Chandrababu Naidu and Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar, the PM Surya Ghar Scheme is gaining momentum in Andhra Pradesh. "Rooftop solar is environmentally beneficial, and therefore, we must put an emphasis on the crucial role of EPCs, vendors, implementing bodies, and DISCOMs in enhancing consumer awareness and streamlining processes for efficient implementation."
