Nitin Gadkari: Construction of 18 Flyovers Underway in Andhra Pradesh

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has announced the construction of 18 flyovers across national highways in Andhra Pradesh, funded by an allocation of ₹1,046 crore. These projects are currently at various stages of progress.

In a response to a query raised by YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Member of Parliament Mithun Reddy during a Lok Sabha session, Gadkari provided a detailed timeline for the completion of these projects, emphasizing their significance in improving road infrastructure and connectivity in the state.

Progress Updates on Key Flyovers

The minister highlighted that five bridges under construction on NH-216A, located at Morampudi, Jonnada, Undrajavaram Junction, Thetali, and Kaikaram, are expected to be completed by April 2, 2025.

For NH-16, two critical bridges at Golagamudi Junction and Nellore T Junction are slated for completion by September 11, 2025. Meanwhile, the flyover at Visakhapatnam Airport Junction is targeted for completion by February 15, 2025, and the bridge at Mirchiyard in Guntur is scheduled to be ready by January 6, 2025.

Future Projects in the Pipeline

The government has already issued permission letters for constructing new bridges at Naguluppalapadu Growth Center and Rajupalem Junction on NH-16. Additionally, bids have been invited for the construction of flyovers at the following locations:

• Rajupalem Crossroad
• Jonnathali Crossroad
• Chevvur Crossroad
• Ranasthalam Town Portion on NH-16
• Near the Kia Motors plant on NH-44

Bids are also being prepared for upcoming projects at Sri City Zero Point and Chillakuru Centers on NH-16, showcasing the ministry's proactive approach to enhancing road safety and traffic flow.
