Vijayawada/Visakhapatnam: Industrialists in Andhra Pradesh have hailed a slew of initiatives rolled out by the State Government to roll out a red carpet welcome to investors in big ticket projects.

Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (AP Chambers) president Potluri Bhaskar Rao told Bizz Buzz that they wholeheartedly welcome the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Visakhapatnam on January 8. Commenting on the PM's visit, he said, “The visit of the PM to lay foundation stones virtually for key projects such as Visakhapatnam Railway Zone headquarters in Visa-khapatnam and NTPC’s green hydrogen project is a positive sign. The State has been waiting for a long time for the grounding of the new railway zone with headquarters in Visakhapatnam. The new railway zone in AP is expected to create employment oppor-tunities and generate revenue for the State.

Bhaskar Rao said, “The green hydrogen project is poised to position Andhra Pradesh as a clean energy leader in the country. The Green Hydrogen Hub is expected to generate 20 gigawatts of clean electricity and 1,200 tonnes of green hydrogen daily. The project is expected to create around 25,000 jobs and support many ancillary industries.”

“Andhra Pradesh is an industrially backward State and needs support of the Union Government to grow industrially and to create employment opportunities. Though visionary Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who is taking extraordinary measures to put the State back on growth trajectory, the State needs the financial support and backing of the Union Government for key infrastructure projects. As a coalition government, the NDA government in the Centre and TDP and allies in the State are doing a tremendous job to develop Andhra Pradesh on all fronts," he stated. Vizag Development Forum vice-president and Symbiosys Technologies CEO Naresh Kumar told this correspondent that the decision to launch several projects in a single go is a very positive step. "The PM and the CM are working in harmony as music for the investor community," he remarked.

Naresh Kumar said, "These are big ticket investments with lakhs of crores investment in the first phase itself if both NTPC and AM/NS India projects materialise as envisaged. These projects have potential to generate employment to many and give a fillip to the local economy. Both the CM and the PM coming to welcome investors is a welcome step.
