HSL To Construct Tug For VPA

Visakhapatnaman: Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) has signed a contract agreement with Hindustan Shipyard Ltd (HSL) to design and construct a 60-tonne bollard pull tug.

The agreement was signed by Capt. T Srinivas, Deputy Conservator, VPA, and Cmde Girideep Singh, (IN retd) and Director, (Ship Building), HSL. Completion of 60-tonne bollard pull tug will be 18 months period from the date of signing of the agreement. The tug will be built with the state-of-art technology duly ensuring safety standards. According to the agreement, it will cater to the movement of vessels into the harbour in order to provide seamless movements and would help in increase of cargo throughput in the coming days.
