HSL Refits Coast Guard vessel Ahead Of Schedule
Visakhapatnam: Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), a premier shipbuilding yard under the Ministry of Defence, has set a new record by completing the refit of Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Vessel seven days ahead of schedule, despite a 35 per cent increase in Scope of Work (SoW).
The accomplishment marks HSL’s 19th consecutive on-time refit delivery in the last 2.5 years, solidifying its reputation for reliable and top-notch ship repair services. The experienced team at Ship Repair Complex innovatively undertook the task, achieving notable milestones: Locally machined propeller blade footings using CNC machines, Installed shaftarings and deep sea seals without removing shafts and procured and supplied 85 machinery spares with seamless PNC completion.
The complex is also credited with completing 33 AWRFs reducing HSL’s operational efficiency of engine load demand by 10 per cent. The successful execution of this project has been acknowledged by CGRPS and Krasny Marine’s support was instrumental in this success, HSL said.
OHC renovated
In another development, HSL renovated its 38-year-old Occupational Health Centre (OHC) to enhance wellbeing of employees including contract workmen.
The revamped facility boasts advanced medical equipment and modern furniture, ensuring enhanced medical services for all employees including contract workmen.
