Today, Visakhapatnam: The Indian Meteorological Department has alerted the governments of AP, Odisha, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu due to the threat of severe cyclone 'Dana' in the Bay of Bengal. The low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal strengthened into a squall in the morning and a severe squall in the evening. According to the IMD, it is likely to turn into a cyclonic storm on Wednesday morning and a severe cyclonic storm on Thursday morning. It is expected to cross the coast between Puri (Odisha) and Sagar Island (West Bengal) between Thursday midnight and Friday morning.

Rain forecast for Uttarandhra

The impact of the storm may not be on the state. According to the current forecast, Odisha, West Bengal, if the course changes due to local conditions, it may go towards Bangladesh. Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam and Srikakulam districts will receive abundant rains. There will be clarity on this by Wednesday,' said Dr. KJ Ramesh, former DG of IMD. Droni continues from Vayugundam to Tamil Nadu in Bay of Bengal. North East Monsoon is active in Tamil Nadu. Due to the effect of these, heavy rains are falling in many districts of Rayalaseema. Cancellation of many trains

Many trains were canceled on the East Coast Railway on 23rd, 24th and 25th due to cyclone 'Dana' warnings. They include long distance services as well as near services. A maximum of 37 services were canceled on Thursday. Among the canceled trains, there are mostly those traveling from Howda, Bhubaneswar, Kharagpur, Puri and other places. The Vande Bharat train between Visakha and Bhubaneswar was canceled on 24th.
