CITU Protests Privatisation Of Port Hospital

Visakhapatnam: CITU-affiliated Public Sector Coordination Committee recently staged a dharna at the Port Golden Jubilee Hospital in protest against the decision of Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) to hand it over to private parties as part of monetisation.

Committee co-convenor Kumaramangalam said the proposal should be dropped as several poor port employees and retirees regularly visit the 150-bed hospital to meet their medical needs. CITU leader Jagan said there is a potential to increase the bed strength further by 80.
