Vijayawada: The Bureau of Energy Efficiency under the Ministry of Power is getting ready to showcase the successful implementation of energy efficiency in Andhra Pradesh and other States in South India at the 4th International Conference on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) being held at Chitrakoot from November 22 to 24. As a key player, BEE will highlight the transformative impact of energy efficiency in the Southern States. The Deendayal Research Institute, with the support of the World SDG Forum, will organise the conference to discuss strategies for achieving sustainable development.

During the event, BEE’s Media Adviser Wing will present the impact of communication strategies in driving the adoption of energy efficiency programs of State Designated Agencies (SDA) of Southern States and particularly in proactive States such as Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Telangana. BEE’s energy efficiency programs have gained significant momentum in recent years, demonstrating tangible results in providing clean energy solutions, contributing to sustainable development, and addressing climate change. These achievements were recently showcased at the South Asia Clean Energy Forum 2024 in Jaipur, organised by USAID in collaboration with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL). Building on this success, the Chitrakoot conference will provide a platform for BEE to share key case studies and success stories from the Southern region of India.

BEE’s comprehensive energy efficiency strategy includes several pioneering initiatives that have set new benchmarks in the sector. Under the Standard & Labelling (S&L) Program: there is acclaim over success in reducing energy consumption significantly by promoting the use of energy-efficient products covering 39 appliances. Other successful initiatives include Perform, Achieve, and Trade (PAT) Scheme, E-mobility in the transport sector, according to BEE Advisor (South India & UTs) A Chandrasekhar Reddy.
