Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Minister for MSME, NRI Empowerment & Relations Kondapalli Srinivas on Tuesday said the State government is committed to give a big boost to the MSME sector.
He was speaking at a curtain-raiser event organised by Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (AP Chambers) for AP Chambers Business Expo 2024 being held here from November 29 to December 1. CEO of AP MSME Development Corporation Nandani Salaria, among others attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, Srinivas congratulated AP Chambers for organising the business expo on a large scale.
The six policies announced by the State government have created a buzz in the market as they are innovative. The government wants the State to grow 15 per cent annually as the State is currently lagging behind other states. Our theme is, ‘Think Global and Act Global.’
He said “the Chief Minister wants to create one entrepreneur from every family." AP Chambers submitted a ‘Roadmap for the Rapid Economic Development of AP’ while we were framing the policies. The government has taken certain inputs from the suggestions submitted by AP Chambers. The government has received certain grievances such as GO. Ms. Nos 5 & 6 related to Autonagars that are yet to be resolved. We will address them soon. The State government announced one of the best private industrial park policies. We are also coming up with virtual workplace policy with incentives for people who set up workplaces.
Speaking on the occasion, AP Chambers president Potluri Bhaskara Rao said, “AP Chambers submitted many inputs for different policies and the government had incorporated many of our suggestions in the recently launched policies. These six policies are the best in the country. The importance given to procurement from local MSMEs and incentives for employment generation are commendable. Further, we request the State government to set up one MSE Facilitation Centre in every district and revamp the District Industries Centres to make them more efficient." He said the government should focus on bringing down the cost of production, especially inputs costs like fuel, power and other raw material, which has become a burden for MSME.
“The policies that were announced are good and we hope the government ensures their implementation at the ground-level. MSMEs that are in the informal sector should be brought into the organised sector. Handholding should be done for MSMEs in order to enable them to sell in the global markets. The Ratan Tata Innovation Hub announced by the State government is an excellent initiative.”
Bhaskara Rao added, “AP Chambers is organising the Business Expo for promoting the MSMEs and business enterprises in the State. This will be the largest Business Expo in Andhra Pradesh after the formation of the new State government in AP.”
AP Chambers General Secretary, B Raja Sekhar 150 plus exhibitors from various sectors such as manufacturing, MSMEs, automobiles, food processing, tourism and hospitality, infrastructure and real estate will participate.
