Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Government launched a frist of it's kind P4 Policy (Public Private People Partnership) to involve 10 per cent of affluent Telugus for improving the financial condition of 20 per cent people below poverty line.

The beneficiaries will be be called ‘Bangaru Kutumbam’ (golden families), while those who come forward to lend their helping hand will be termed as 'Margadarsi' (guide).

The policy launched at Velagapudi on Ugadi--the Telugu New Year, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said their goal is to achieve zero poverty by 2047. He said the policy is aimed at removing poverty completely by involving rich Telugus from both India and those settled abroad as per Swarnandhra Vision 2047.

The vision has an ambitious target to transform Andhra Pradesh into a $.14 billion by raising per capita income from Rs.2.68 lakh to Rs.58 lakh at an annual growth rate of 15 per cent by 2047.

Naidu feels that wealth should not be concentrated in the hands of a few. A just society is possible when everyone has access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. He launched the Margadarshi – Bangaru Kutumbam Zero Poverty (P4) initiative. His vision is that wealthy individuals should support the poor, and 10 per cent of society’s elite should voluntarily uplift the bottom 20 per cent. He called upon Telugu people to become global role models in philanthropy.

Naidu said in the last nine months, the NDA government has made all its decisions with the “People First” approach. While focusing on welfare and development, the government is also attracting investments. He introduced WhatsApp Governance, making government services accessible to citizens without needing to visit offices.

Earlier, chairing a review meeting on ‘Zero Poverty– P4’ programme, the Chief Minister said that anyone can voluntarily come forward to extend a helping hand and directed the officials not to force anyone in this regard. NRIs too can take part in this initiative, the Chief Minister said and expressed confidence that P-4 too will receive tremendous public response like the Janma Bhoomi programme implemented during his previous tenure. The government expects to enroll 20 lakh beneficiaries under the programme in the first phase.

The platform is open to everyone who comes forward voluntarily to offer support to the poor, Naidu clarified and made it clear that the role of the State Government is only to bring both the donors and the beneficiaries onto a common platform. No additional financial aid will be provided by the State, he added.
