AP Govt, EESL Partner For Energy Efficient Appliances

Hyderabad: Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), a joint venture under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has entered into a significant agreement with the Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation Ltd (APSHCL) and Andhra Pradesh State Energy Efficiency Development Corporation Ltd (APSEEDCO) to provide energy efficient appliances to 1.50 lakh low-income houses being constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
Under the terms of the agreement, each of the targeted PMAY homes will receive energy-efficient solutions including four LED bulbs, two Batten tubelights, and two five-star BLDC fans. EESL said that it will be taking the lead in procuring and distributing the energy efficient solutions, in line with its mission to promote affordable energy-efficient solutions across India.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu, wherein the CM directed EESL and all State departments to showcase energy efficiency measures in other segments too.
During a high-level meeting, the CM reviewed the ongoing projects in the department of Energy, Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Housing, Municipal & Urban Development and Women & Child Development. P Narayana, Minister for Municipal Administration; Ravi Kumar, Minister for Energy; Special Secretary (Energy) K Vijayanand; Special Secretary (Panchayati Raj and Rural Development) Shashi Bhushan; Special Secretary (Urban Development) Ashok Singhal; Special Chief Secretary (Housing) Ajay Jain; Secretary (Finance) M Janaki, and Secretary (Women and Child Welfare) Suryakumari, were also present during the meeting.
