AP Gets Rs 1800 Cr From IMFL Outlet Applicants
Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has received nearly 90,000 proposals for IMFL retail outlets, generating an impressive Rs 1,800 crore in response to its recent application notification. Though the deadline for submission of applications expired on the evening of Friday, the government allowed online submission for some more time on the request of several prospective businessmen.
The new pricing system with several brands as part of the New Liquor Policy being launched by the TDP-led NDA government will come into effect from October 16. According to official sources, NTR district accounted for the highest number of 5,787 applications for 113 shops followed by West Godavari with 5,362 for 170 outlets. The applications found qualified during scrutiny will be taken up for lottery draw of lottery on October 14. Through a gazette notification, the TDP-led NDA government dispensed with the system followed by the YSRCP regime and revived private management of the retail outlets.
A dozen premium shops will be opened later at select places. A non-refundable fee of Rs 2 lakh was collected by the applications for IMFL retail outlets.
