Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad on Thursday reviewed the various Centrally-sponsored schemes being implemented in the State and directed the officials to work hard for a better delivery system.

At the meeting, he sought progress on various schemes being implemented in collaboration with the Central and State governments in regard to the Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, Housing, Agriculture, Medical Health and Fisheries.

Panchayati Raj & Rural Development Principal Secretary Sashi Bhushan Kumar explained to him that a total of 22 Centrally-sponsored schemes are being implemented in the department. In 2023-24, Rs 3,366 crore was spent under various schemes and in 2024-2025, Rs7,899 crore was spent so far. For the year 2024-2025, the Centre released Rs 8,340 crore as its share for the implementation of the sponsored schemes. Sashi Bhushan Kumar informed that various Centrally-sponsored schemes are being successfully implemented in the Panchayati Raj & Rural Development Department.

The CS reviewed the programs related to the skill training department and discussed the skill training programs conducted so far in 2023-24 and 2024-25, the share of the Central government, as well as the funds allocated as the share of the State government and the funds spent. The programs that are not covered in the various training programs implemented by the Central government, if there are any, the authorities are advised to take appropriate measures to implement them in the State. He said that better outcome-based training programs should be organised to provide employment opportunities to the youth especially through the skill training department.

The CS ordered a detailed report regarding the training programs conducted so far. During discussion on the Home Department, Special Secretary, Home Vijayakumar said that three Centrally-sponsored schemes like modernisation of police forces are being implemented. All the CC cameras in the State should be connected with the real-time governance system in the State Secretariat.
