AP Cabinet Okays Key Draft Policies For Industries, MSMEs, Clean Energy
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Wednesday gave its stamp of approval to the draft policies prepared separately for industries, clean energy, food processing, MSMEs and electronic sector. The meeting, chaired at Velagapudi Secretariat by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu laid emphasis on ensuring ‘speed of doing business’ while improving the parameters for Ease of Doing Business to give a big boost to port-led development all along the 974-km long coastline, the second largest after Gujarat. The thrust in the new policies is to create 20 lakh jobs as promised in the Super Six Guarantees by the TDP and its allies in the elections in the next five years. In the new industrial policy for 2030, there is a provision to provide incentives and keep in escrow account to those entrepreneurs to ground their projects on time. As Naidu has made it clear that their approach is ‘employment first,’ those credited with creating more jobs will be offered additional incentives.
“The government is taking a series of steps to improve the investment climate and lure the investors with the offer of additional incentives if they ground their projects before schedule and create more jobs than promised,” a senior official said. The Cabinet discussed the fulfilling one of the key promises to provide three free LPG cylinders per year to the BPL families from Diwali. The loans taken by many in the flood-affected areas will be rescheduled along with exemption of stamp duty and registration charges. As part of the new MSME policy, a target has been made to create at least one entrepreneur from each family by 2030.
The headquarters of AP Anti-Narcotics Task Force will be set up at the capital city of Amaravati. The meeting, which discussed on various issues in detail, resolved to upload confidential GOs in the website with a special button, fill up 190 posts in newly created 13 municipalities, allot land in the Malavalli industrial corridor and abolishing garbage cess, which was introduced during the erstwhile YSRCP regime in the face of stiff public
opposition.
Establishing fast-track courts to conduct trials for those conducting sexual atrocities on children and others and forming a separate corporation for welfare of padmashalis also figured at the Cabinet meeting. The meeting also discussed to change rules to accommodate additional members in various temple management committees.
