AP Assembly Convened On Feb 24

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer has issued a notification convening the third session of the AP Legislative Council from February 24. The notification said in exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (1) of Article 274of the Constitution of India,the Governor summoned the 16th Assembly to meet for its third session at Assembly Hall at Velagapudi. Separate notification was issued to con-vene the Legislative Council from the same day.

Suspense continues whether the YSRCP MLAs led by their legislative party leader and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will attend the Assembly or not. Speaker Ch Ayyanna Patrudu has already indicated that action may be initiated if any-one remains absent continuously for 60 days without a valid reason. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also ruled out at a recent press conference the conferring of Leader of Opposition status on Jagan as YSRCP does not have one-10th of total As-sembly membership.
