Amaravati, January 20, 2025: A drone spotted hovering over the camp office of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan near Mangalagiri two days ago has been confirmed as a state government asset.

Investigation Identifies State Government Drone

After a complaint was lodged by the Jana Sena Party, authorities investigated the incident and traced the drone to Andhra Pradesh State FiberNet Limited (APSFL), a government entity. The investigation revealed that the drone was conducting surveys on traffic management, sanitation, canal upkeep, and road conditions. It was noted that the drone also flew over the offices of the Jana Sena Party and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Concerns Raised by Jana Sena

The drone’s presence above Pawan Kalyan’s camp office for about 20 minutes on Saturday afternoon alarmed Jana Sena leaders. They immediately reached out to the Director General of Police (DGP), the Guntur District Collector, and the Superintendent of Police, demanding a thorough investigation and stronger security measures.

Police Findings

CCTV footage helped investigators confirm the drone’s origins and purpose. APSFL clarified that the device was deployed as part of its regular surveys and was not intended to breach security or privacy.

Security Issues Highlighted by Jana Sena

Jana Sena leaders voiced concerns about ongoing security threats to Pawan Kalyan. They cited two prior incidents:

In December 2022, a fake IPS officer was apprehended while impersonating law enforcement during Pawan Kalyan’s visit to the north coastal districts.

During the Vijayawada Book Festival, a power outage raised suspicions of a potential security lapse.

DGP’s Assurance on Safety Measures

Responding to the party’s concerns, DGP Dwarka Tirumala Rao assured that Pawan Kalyan’s security is a top priority. He emphasized that all necessary protocols are in place and denied any negligence by the police department.
