Amor Hospitals said a 15-year-old boy with a rare chest (right side) malformation, since birth has been treated at Amor Super Speciality Hospital and Amor Cancer Center.

The hospital in a release said that the young patient faced breathlessness, stemming from a malformation known as Pectus Excavatum, which compressed his right-sided chest wall, limiting lung function. He turned to Amor Hospitals for assistance after facing initial rejections from other medical facilities due to the nature of his condition, it added.

Following the procedure, the patient underwent a thorough evaluation, demonstrating significant improvement in lung function. He can now engage in daily activities without hindrance, marking a transformative journey from breathlessness to vitality, Dr Reddy informed.

He expressed gratitude to the multidisciplinary team, which included Cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon Dr K Arun, Plastic Surgeon, Dr Abhinandan, ICU Specialist, Dr J Srinivas, Emergency Specialist, Dr Jayasekhar, Anesthetists Dr Pratyusha, Dr Mahesh, besides the rehabilitation team as well as the dedicated Operation theatre, ICU Staff and Nurses.
