Air India Guarantees Vistara Passengers the Same Premium Service After Merger
As Air India and Vistara prepare for their merger on November 12, Air India has assured Vistara passengers that their travel experience won’t change. In a reassuring message on Twitter, the airline confirmed that the same high-quality fleet, service, and staff will continue under the Air India banner, with a new flight code AI 2XXX.
Air India is making sure the shift is smooth for all passengers by setting up support at major airports. Passengers traveling with Vistara can find help at key points, where staff will assist with old tickets and self-check-in kiosks.
What’s changing?
In addition to a new flight code, Vistara flights will be branded as Air India. The merger also means that 270,000 Vistara customers have already been transferred to Air India’s system, and over 4.5 million members from Vistara’s Club Vistara will move to Air India’s Flying Returns program, which is being rebranded as "Maharaja Club."
Loyalty programs and future plans
Air India’s integration plan also includes Singapore Airlines acquiring a 25.1% stake in Air India, marking a significant change for both airlines. But rest assured, Vistara's signature premium service will remain a core part of Air India's identity, as promised by Campbell Wilson, CEO of Air India. Passengers can continue to expect the same exceptional service they’ve enjoyed with Vistara.
