Ahead of Cyclone Dana, authorities have ordered the closure of Odisha’s Jagannath Temple in Puri and the Sun Temple in Konark. India Meteorological Department claims that the cyclone is expected to impact Odisha's coast between Bhitarkanika Park and Dhamra Port. This is projected to take place late on October 24 to early October 25. The wind speeds are expected to go up to 120 kmph.

To prevent any mishaps, temples, monuments, and museums have been closed. Schools in districts like Ganjam, Puri, and Balasore will also remain shut. In addition, the Similipal Tiger Reserve and Bhitarkanika National Park will be closed, given the issuing of heavy rain warnings.

Over 150 trains, including the Howrah-Puri Shatabdi Express, have been canceled. Rescue teams from the NDRF, Army, Navy, and Coast Guard have been put on standby. The Odisha government has set up more than 5,000 relief centers equipped with food, water, and medical supplies.
