Hyderabad: Access Health International, a renowned global health system think tank and advisory group, has announced significant changes in its leadership. Dr N Krishna Reddy, previously spearheading operations across Asia, Middle East, and North Africa as president, has been elevated to the role of Chief Executive Officer. Simultaneously, Dr Sten Vermund, the Anna MR Lauder Professor of Public Health at Yale University, joined as a new member of its Board of Directors. Dr Vermund is a distinguished figure in pediatric medicine and infectious disease epidemiology.
This transition follows the tenure of Dr William Haseltine, the founder CEO and Chair, who will continue to contribute as Chair. Dr Reddy's promotion underscores his influential journey within ACCESS Health. With a background in cardiology and co-founding CARE Hospitals in 1997, Dr Reddy's commitment to accessible, high-quality healthcare has been evident. Expressing gratitude, he stated, "The groundwork laid over the past 15 years will steer our vision amidst emerging health challenges."
Dr Vermund's addition brings global insights, reflecting his pivotal roles at Yale and the Global Virus Network. His significant contributions to HIV/AIDS and Covid-19 research, particularly in resource-limited settings, align closely with ACCESS Health's mission. Dr Vermund commented, “ACCESS Health aims to bolster health system effectiveness in regions lacking equitable healthcare. As a Board member, I am eager to contribute.”
