Aadhar Update Deadline Extended Till June 14, 2025

In a bid to maintain the accuracy of demographic information of residents, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadlines till June 14, 2025. Users can update or modify their important details including name, date of birth, address and mobile number via the myAadhaar portal. Earlier the deadline expired on December 14, 2024.

Via a post on X, UIDAI handle stated, “#UIDAl extends free online document upload facility till 14th June 2025; to benefit millions of Aadhaar Number Holders. This free service is available only on the #myAadhaar portal. UIDAl has been encouraging people to keep documents updated in their #Aadhaar.”

However, for biometric data like fingerprints, iris scans or photographs, a person is required to visit authorised Aadhaar centres, which might also invite a nominal fee.

Notably, Biometric updates are essential for those whose body characteristics have changed due to several reasons like age, surgery or accidents. Minors who are about to turn 15 are also required to update their biometric details to maintain accuracy.

Timely updation of Aadhar details helps residents to facilitate access to government services and benefits, including welfare schemes, income tax filing and travel bookings.
