All 41 workers trapped in Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand for 16 Days successfully rescued

In a successful rescue operation led by NDRF and SDRF teams, all 41 workers who were trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand since November 12 have been successfully rescued.

In a successful rescue operation led by NDRF and SDRF teams, all 41 workers who were trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand since November 12 have been successfully rescued. Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd.), Member of NDMA, highlighted the collaborative efforts involving NDRF, rat miners, and army engineers at different phases of the operation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, expressing relief and taking an update on the rescue efforts. President Droupadi Murmu tweeted her happiness, saluting the resilience of the workers and congratulating the teams involved in the challenging rescue mission.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also expressed relief and happiness over the successful rescue of the trapped laborers. Ambulances left the Silkyara tunnel site as all workers were safely evacuated. The workers are currently in the safety tunnel inside the Silkyara tunnel and will soon be evacuated in ambulances.

The rescue operation progressed with 35 out of 41 workers successfully rescued, and the trapped workers received initial health checkups in a temporary medical camp within the tunnel. Locals celebrated the ongoing rescue by distributing sweets outside the Silkyara tunnel. The collaborative efforts under the leadership of the Prime Minister and various organizations were emphasized as an "all of government and all of India operation."
