Sluggish trading in futures continues

Gold futures remained almost flat at Rs71,600 per 10 grams in the futures trade. Silver futures plunged Rs934 to Rs84,276 per kilogram as participants reduced their bets. On Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold contracts for October delivery declined by Rs11, or 0.02 per cent, to trade almost flat at Rs71,600 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 15,959 lots. Analysts attributed gold prices marginally weak amid subdued global market. Globally, gold prices went down by 0.16 per cent to $2,531.60 per ounce in New York.
