Mumbai, Dec 17 Lt Colonel Harjinder Singh was among the 11 defence service personnel, who died in an unfortunate Mi-17 V5 helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu's Coonoor. The Lt Colonel Harjinder Singh had a policy with ICICI Lombard, worth Rs 1 crore. As soon as the ICICI Lombard team received an intimation about the policy, the claim was settled on the same day considering the sensitive nature of the situation. The diagnosis of the claim was due to Air accident of Army Helicopter.

The Lt. Colonel Harjinder Singh had a salary account with ICICI bank. The bank has tie up with ICICI Lombard GIC Ltd for Group personal accident policy.

Sanjay Datta, Head Underwriting, Reinsurance & Claims told Bizz Buzz, "ICICI Lombard team has received intimation on 10th December 2021 and taken quick action and coordinate with the bank officials to get the claim details and complete the documentation part after that the claim was settled and paid of Rs 1 Crore on the same day considering the sensitive nature of the situation".

The policy covers the Insured Person (or his Nominee/ legal heir, as the case may be) for the occurrence of any Insured Event, as specifically described, under different Benefit(s) (and Extensions - if any) arising due to an Injury sustained by the Insured Person during the Policy Period but not exceeding the Sum Insured as specified under the respective Benefits (and Extensions - if any) under Policy Schedule.
